Its never too soon, and every little cent counts down the line. The world of financial aid and FAFSAs, scholarships and EFC are crazy and confusing. SO how do you know how and how much to start saving for college. What is a Education Savings Account. Every parent says they want to start a college fund for their child, but where to store it: under a mattress, in a Swiss bank account? You don’t want to have tax penalties but you want to earn the maximum for your child. There are so many options. As a parent, I can say that it is most confusing. An education 529 savings plan is probably one of the easiest routes and is most commonly chosen. Free grant money and scholarships are out there for your childs education, but it doesn’t always foot the bill completely, unless your child is a genius. When I graduated High School many moons ago, I filed all my financial aid documents to the school of my choice, and I remember that I got some free grants, the majority of my package included $12,000 in loans between myself and my mother. For four year! $12,000. Needless to say I went to community college. But if my mom had known about a education 529 plan, maybe the loan burden wouldn’t have been so high. I mean can you imagine, 4 years of college, a Bachelors Degree and $48,000 in debt, oh yeah, and no job to speak of yet. That’s a great way to start out.

Its true, he can respond as well. My sister's daughter, loved to listen to music. She would listen to a cd (this was pre ipod days) and put the earphones around her big pregnant belly and she would actually respond by moving and kicking. This is one way to begin a connection with your buddle of joy while you are still pregnant. In fact, scientists have conducted studies indicating that when a pregnant woman exposes her unborn child to classical music, it can improve the child’s mathematical capabilities in school. Imagine preparing little Johnny for kindergarten while you are still pregnant. He’s already off to a great start and not even out in the big world yet.

What do I do? What do I eat? Is it ok to do this or is it ok to do that? There are so many myths and ideas about what you can and cannot do when you're going to have a baby. Everyone in your life is going to be ready with some advice and some horror story about their pregnancy and delivery. It is a beautiful time when a woman is with child. In the first couple of months maybe not as you are barfing every five minutes… just kidding, although the term morning sickness is misleading. It's really just sickness and it can come on you any time of the night or day. I remember a friend that the only thing she could eat was a hard shelled meat taco from a local fast food restaurant. Rice, salad, and even the blandest of foods made her gag. And even the thought of a chicken soft taco, or the mere suggestion was enough to make her feel violently ill. But every woman's pregnancy is different. What you can expect when you are pregnant may be nothing like the next person's experience. The important thing is you just have to make it special for you, your baby, your partner and your family.

Ever wonder what to do with all of those greeting cards that you have saved up through the years? You know the ones in the garage collecting dust. Here is a fun rainy day activity to do with your children. It is fun for the kids and gives them quality time with you, the bonding bonuses are priceless.

Here's what you need: old greeting cards, a roll or two of clear contact paper and a roll or two of contact paper of your choice, scissors, glue, a picture of your child, love and patience. Dig out those old cards from the Rubbermaid or Avon box in the garage. Lay them out on the table. Let your kids pick out 10 or 15 with pictures that they like. If they are old enough to use safety scissors, have them cut out the pictures on the cards, otherwise mom, you cut for them. Any shape works, but circles and squares are probably easier to work with than a parallelogram. After they are done choosing their pictures, have them arrange the pictures in an overlapping fashion in to a square shape or round almost like a flower, leaving the center open. Glue the picture of your son or daughter in the center. Using the clear contact paper, cover the top of the placemat. Be careful not to leave any air bubbles as it will be difficult to take it off and go back. Then flip it over, and using the contact paper with designs on it, do the same thing on the back when you are all done, cut off the excess paper around the edges Now your child has designed his or her own personal placemat, which gives them a sense of pride and achievement, which they are able to use or to give to Grandma or Grandpa. And every Grandparent loves handmade gifts.

If you are now expecting you first child, then Congratulations! There are few things as magical as pregnancy. However, having a child can definitely be a difficult transition to make physically, mentally and emotionally. You may be excited, anxious, even scared all at the same time and understandably so, especially when you consider all of the hormones your body is producing!

Whether you were trying to get pregnant or your little blessing is an unexpected one, it’s completely natural to experience a variety of emotions all at once. Having a child can often require a lot of changes to be made in your life and your home, as well as your body. It can be especially hard for many women to mentally accept having so little control over what their body is doing during pregnancy and delivery, since many of us have created a stable personal environment which we have almost complete control over. Our controlled, stable environment will need to be more flexible for a while, our priorities may change.

During pregnancy, you may find yourself contemplating many new topics, asking yourself hundreds of new questions. Within a single minute you may find your mind wandering from child-proofing your home to questioning the quality of education among local schools to pondering how you can prevent unsightly stretch marks. Maybe for the first time you begin to realize you must make countless decisions for another human being. That can certainly create a lot of stress and pressure, which can cause you to be nervous, to wonder whether you have what it takes to be a good parent. And what in deed is a good parent?

Chances are you have some ideas about the kind of parent you don’t want to be, but that still leaves quite a lot of options. There is not one specific parenting method that will simply work for every family, although we may wish there were! Regardless how simple it would be to give every parent the same handbook, children and families are not created with a cookie cutter. Think how very boring the world would be if it were so!

Instead, unique individuals create unique children and diverse families. Many various parenting methods and techniques have been created and they may each have valuable insight for you to examine as you try to discover the sort of parent you want to be. You can find several valuable tips and guidelines for pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting children of all ages through a variety of resources on the internet alone.

You may want to start by learning about pregnancy and childbirth if you are currently expecting, or baby safety and that first wonderful year if you are nearing your due date. You’re probably also curious about how to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight, how to slim down and firm up, and how to get rid of those stretch marks. You could also be interested in creating a family budget plan or just alleviating some of the stress and pressure of this additional role in life.

No matter what your primary concerns are right now, a bit of research can help to ease your mind. You can find various resources to answer any questions you may have. In addition, it’s very important to create a network of support that can include family and friends, as well as other mothers. There are many online communities created to help women connect with one another, you are welcome to start building your network now by joining the community here!
