Google Has Some More Changes And They Are Pretty Cool

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Google Audio Indexing New FeatureIf you have an online business and you utilise the Google Adwords Advertising Campaign then you will probably like the latest changes that Google have made to this system.

- Your keywords will no longer be marked as "Inactive" (yeh) I used to hate that. All keywords are now active because they are evaluated for every query that is relevant.

- No longer is there a "minimum bid" that has now been replaced with "First Page Bid Estimates" providing the advertiser with a choice and that choice will be whether you wish to be on the first page or risk being found on later pages.

- The "Quality Score" column (if you don't know where this is, activate it in your column preferences under the Keywords Tab) is now more accurate as it is now calculated at the time of each search query.

So what this means is pretty much more accuracy and with all words now active, this should translate into more clicks and therefore more traffic.

Cool hey!

Google also announced that they are de-emphasizing the importance of a landing page, that will be interesting, I will follow that statement closely.

Now I have saved the best until last! This is so cool! Google have announced that they are starting to index audio files. What this means is they will index the audio file and which will allow you to search text in the audio message and then when you click play, it takes you directly to that place in the audio message. Isn't that cool, technology is just so amazing.

Go Here to the announcement by Google

And here are some sample of the Audio Indexing.

Google Has Just Released Google Chrome

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

New Web Browser by GoogleGoogle have just released their own new web browser "Google Chrome" It is free and you can download it from http://www.google.com/chrome  I have just downloaded it and had a bit of a play with it and from what I can see it seems pretty good.

It seems very fast and you can enter either a search or a web address into the address bar, saving time searching by not having to go to google to preform a search first. it uploaded all of my favorites from Firefox and appears really easy to manouver around.

One feature that Google Chrone has that I like is the "New Incognito Window" which means you can go in and browse around and the pages you view will not appear in your browser history nor will you have to worrying about having spy cookies left on your computer. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will still remain however, very clever thinking, I am sure this will be a big hit and catch on fast.

I suggest you download it and give it a try. It is quick and easy to download and learn your way around. If you spend a lot of time online, Google Chrome is worth a look, I feel with the speed it appears to have it could save you a lot of time.  Download and Try Here now for FREE

Good Communication Pays – Part 3

Friday, September 5th, 2008

It helps to know who you are talking to and what sort of conversation is appropriate for the situation. If you are speaking to a new associate you should ask questions which cannot be answered by a simple yes or no. Encourage longer answers that will allow you to get to know the person better and offer a bit of background information about yourself in the process. If the relationship is business-related be friendly, but do not venture into personal subjects or topics that can be controversial (like politics, unless of course your business is politics).

However, if you have developed a good business relationship with someone, it may not be inappropriate to acknowledge personal interests that you may share. For example, if you are visiting the office of a long-term business associate and notice golf clubs, you may bring up the topic and ask them about that particular brand or where they play, to let them know it is a common interest between you. Whether or not you invite them to golf with you or wait for them to invite you should also depend on the nature and time period of your association.

Good Communication Pays – Part 2

Monday, September 1st, 2008

The most important thing to remember about being a good communicator is actually the opposite – you must listen! This applies to all aspects of your business, whether you are talking to a client, an employee, or a sponsor and it is equally important in casual, social situations because you never know when you might meet someone who can become a valuable connection for your social-business network. Making a positive impression is paramount, because you are the face and voice of your business.

No matter who it is you are talking to and regardless of the nature of your relationship, listening is essential because you are better able to formulate a relevant response when you listen to whomever you are speaking with. Isn’t it annoying when you are having a conversation with someone and they look at you blankly and say “what”? Or when you are saying something that you feel is important and the person you are talking to continues typing, or reading, or (aargh!) even watching the television?

Do unto others as you’d have done to you” is just as meaningful when it comes to communication as it is in everything else. If you are too busy to listen when an employee or associate comes to you with an issue or idea, does that really encourage them to listen to your concerns or suggestions in the future?

Broad Horizons

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Chances are you understand very well how limiting your breadth of vision can be a detriment to your business. You may be able to remember a time or two (or several) when learning something new was the deciding factor between success and possible failure. Or you may be able to think of a situation in which you missed the opportunity to do something new to raise the bar of your business and a competitor got the glory for an idea that could have been yours.

Opportunities, and personal sudden realizations, can come in all shapes and sizes. One common way that many people have become inspired is through communication with other people! All it takes is one simple statement to create a new idea and understanding, even a new outlook.

However, this requires that we listen when we are communicating with others and that we try to understand what they are saying, a basic rule of polite conversation that can actually benefit your business as well!

Real Enthusiasm

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

It's something that everyone can see and no one can easily fake. Honest enthusiasm about your business is a sure sign of success, even if your business isn't as profitable and prestigious now as you would like it to be, you have already won since you have found something that you can be passionate about!

When you show your real enthusiasm to business associates, they can see that you believe in your business and they in turn may be more likely to believe in you. Your passion shows that you are personally invested in your company and that you will work energetically to make it a success. Do not be afraid to show people how excited you are.

In general, showing enthusiasm when communicating with others is engaging and entertaining, they may listen more closely to learn what it is you are so enthusiastic about. Unfortunately, not everyone has a job that they can be passionate about, but almost everyone will admit to desiring that feeling of purpose.

Keep working at your job with as much enthusiasm as you can, but in the meantime, in your spare time work at your hobby that you are really keen and enthusiastic about, keep at it with a view of making it your business, eventually your honest enthusiasm will shine on through and you will be rewarded for your consistent efforts.

Be Open Minded and Have A Flexible Point of View

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Your willingness to see business matters from a new perspective and take advantage of opportunities to grow and expand your business has no doubt paid off. An inflexible perspective and plan for your business can be counter-productive and it is the very same in communication!

Being to set in your ways with your ideas and opinions can create boundaries and discourage open, candid conversation. While it is important to have core values and principles in your business and personal life, taking them too seriously can make you become very rigid and inhibit the growth and success of your business. In communication, becoming too rigid in your ideas can cause you to be less open and more dismissive of the ideas of others.

Being flexible, giving credence to the beliefs and ideas of others may not only create more open and progressive conversation with your personal and business associates, but it can also provide opportunity to evolve in several aspects of your life. Being able to see issues and situations from many different perspectives can mean the difference between growth and stagnation in your business and personal affairs.

Although the idea of easy money can be very enticing, get-rich-quick programs, pyramid schemes, and other online business opportunities that run rampant on the internet today tend to only make one person rich: their originator. You wouldn't think so considering all of the email spam you receive and the advertisements you see about online business, but it really is more open and welcoming than it seems. There is still a lot of room for you to find your perfect niche.

Quite simply, if it sounds too good to be true it is probably a lie. We would all like to make money without doing anything, but such are hollow promises; that is why 98% of those who try to build an online business fail. Creating a successful online business is going to take some effort on your part, all the more reason to be interested in your business! The feeling of accomplishment that comes with establishing your business is not as easily attainable as pushers of pyramid schemes and MLM programs would have you believe.

If you are serious about starting an online business, these scams are a complete waste of your time. With just a little bit of imagination and creativity, you can develop a plan for your business that you can be excited and enthusiastic about, and one that you can be proud of! The competition to make money online is not as overwhelming as your junk mail box suggests; while you are sure to have a few competitors, they will contribute to the success of your business by making you raise the bar and innovate.

Online business scams operate (or profess to at least) on an idea that is completely contrary to logical business strategies. In most legitimate businesses, you want very few other businesses to be doing the same thing that you are. However, the objective of most online business scams is to get as many people as possible to run a small business just like yours. If everyone were successful with this business plan, completely and without fail, you would eventually run out of people to join and no one would make any money at all.

With the right tools, operating your own online business can be almost as simple as get-rich-quick schemes, you just need to know where to look for the resources you need to make the management of your business easier and less time consuming

Working in your Pajamas

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Running a successful small business from home is something that many people would like to do, however a lot of people derail themselves in this pursuit. It might be a dream come true to be able to work in your pajamas, especially when you are running late on the way to work and fall victim to the traffic splash just outside your office. With determination and perseverance as well as a bit of self discipline, almost anyone can attain their online business goals.

One very common self-sabotage technique among people pursuing profit online is just that; choosing an online business plan for the purpose of making money. Regardless of the nature of your business, it can be time consuming and stressful to get started. If you are in your home, in your pajamas, and you are bored by the tasks you have to do, what is to keep your attention on you work?

Start an online business that you can be enthusiastic and even passionate about. If you enjoy what you are doing, it's likely that you will get more done. You won't be prone to procrastination and avoidant behavior so easily, even though you are in the comfort of your own home.

When you are passionate about your online business and there is no one else to moderate you, it may end up spending too much time working. After a point, the more you work, the more your performance will decrease, so it's important to relax and maybe get those pajamas off and go out for the rest of the day!

If you are successful working at home, it is possible that you will find your work load has increased leaving you little or no leisure time, but you may not want to pay an employee out of your pocket just yet. You can easily find tools that will suit your business needs and make your day run more quickly and smoothly. You can choose a program or service that will help you save time and energy by keeping track of your products or even corresponding with customers and clients more efficiently. There are numerous resources at your disposal to help you with running your successful online business.
